2025 to 2026

A Day Full Of Colour

As the only South Asian dance company at the Leeds Pride 2025, Balbir Singh Dance Company brought vibrant energy to the parade, led by the charismatic Kali Chandrasegaram, with dancers Devaraj Thimmaiah, Sanchita Mazumdar and Tara Balfour, and Clea Godsill from the Resilient Dancer Programme, alongside MA students from the University of Leeds. Together, they performed along the route, engaging the crowd with spontaneous dance, gestures of inclusion, and many shared smiles.

BSDC also had a strong visual presence, with striking posters displayed throughout the event that linked the company’s work to the broader celebration of the human condition—highlighting themes of resilience, joy, and identity. It was a day full of colour, connection, and the power of performance to bring communities together.
